Do you have burning in your feet, trouble with balance, or numbness, tingling and/or pain in your hands or feet? You may have neuropathy and need an effective treatment. Experts describe our current treatments for neuropathy as “inadequate”, “frustrating and maybe even appalling” in part because they claim that the “nerves in patients with neuropathy are irreversibly damaged.” .
If we could heal the so-called irreversibly damaged nerves of patients with neuropathy, we would radically change the management of this disease. No longer would we use treatments that mask the symptoms of pain. Rather, we could restore how the nerves should function. The following case shows how regenerating nerves, reducing pain, and restoring function without side effects produce a truly effective treatment.
CASE STUDY: Before: “The symptoms I feel are very distressing.” After: “I feel GREAT!!!”
A 57 year old male had the burning, tingling, numbing painful symptoms of neuropathy for over 20 years. Many physicians had treated him with opioids and gabapentin. Yet when I first saw him, his pain went as high as an 8 out of 10 and his function index showed that he had very severe impairments of his activities of daily living. He was very unsteady when he walked, could not feel vibration or light touch in his feet and on biopsy the nerve fibers in his leg were markedly reduced. He was given 12 CET treatments over a six week period. A repeat biopsy nine months after treatment showed that the nerve fibers in his leg had more than doubled in number. When last seen 40 months after finishing his treatment he felt GREAT!!! His pain was a zero. He had no functional impairment, walked normally, had normal perception of touch and vibration in his feet, was on no opioids or gabapentin and had experienced no side effects. His response to CET proves that an effective treatment for neuropathy exists. Patients have traveled hundreds of miles from neighboring states to here in Northern Indiana so that their symptoms could be reduced and their lives improved.
